***Do you require a deposit when a portrait is booked?

Yes. There is a non-refundable minimum deposit of 25% of your total commission due upon the booking of your portrait. This is necessary in the event that a client changes their mind about commissioning me once a portrait has been started. This deposit will be deducted from the full commission price upon completion of the portrait.

***How long will it be before I receive my completed portrait?

Please allow 4-6 weeks for completion and delivery of your portrait. Depending on my turnover it usually only takes about 2 weeks. You will be notified if it will take any longer than expected.
If this is a gift for someone, and there is a deadline, please let me know. I will do my best to get it to you for your important function.
Please book in advance if this for a special holiday such as Christmas as I book up fast this time of year. This will assure that you will get your portrait in time.
If you are in a time crunch and do not have time to get a portrait done, I offer Gift Certificates. Please see my "Gift Certificates" page for more information.

***How will I know if I am going to like the finished portrait?

During the creation process, I stay in constant contact with you to ensure that I am accurately portraying your pet's features and personality. I will email you photos of your portrait in progress if I need to verify colors, characteristics, etc, that I am striving for.
Once your portrait is completed, I will e-mail you a photo of your portrait for approval. Minor changes can be made if needed before it is shipped to you, such as, adding more fur, color, shadows or highlights. At this final stage, I can only add to a portrait. I can not take anything away from it.
Photographs of your completed portrait may not show the exquisite detail or your pet. If you like the photograph of it, you should be thrilled with the actual portrait once received.

***What if I need to cancel my booking?

Cancellation of a commissioned portrait may only be done before I receive your deposit and before the portrait has been started. It is unfair to other clients whom are patiently waiting for their portraits, to be delayed in the event I begin a portrait for a client and then they cancel it. This is precious time wasted as well as money lost on an unfinished portrait.
Please be considerate for others. Thanks!

***Are shipping costs included with the portrait commission prices?

Unfortunately, no. As each individual portrait is different in size, and whether or not it has been framed, where the portrait is being shipped to and to help cover the cost of my packaging and shipping supplies, shipping is not included.
Once each portrait is packaged for shipping, I will e-mail you as to your confirmed shipping charges.
In the event of an unfortunate mishap during shipping, such as breakage or lost packages, I only ship portraits via "insured" carrier.

***What happens if my portrait has been damaged during shipping?

I will make every attempt to package your portrait to prevent damage during shipment. However, sometimes, beyond our control, damage can occur. If this should happen, contact the "claims" department of the carrier and please notify me immediately where we will work out the issue.
If your portrait is damaged during shipment, I will happily re-do the portrait. (I will not replace any portait that has been damaged by by the client's mishandling.) There will be no additional charges for a replacement of the damaged portrait. I only require you to pay for the shipping of the damaged portrait back to me before the replacement has been started.
I will do whatever I can to resolve any concerns you may have.

Please understand that these portraits are custom made and no two are identical. Care must be taken to preserve your portrait for many years to come. If one becomes ruined, it will be difficult to produce an exact match for the one that was lost.

(Simple instructions for its care will be included with your portrait.)
